The official forbiddance of Yoga

When I talk to my parents about this, they seems to be not so interested in the issue as it has actually nothing to do with them. Yoga is just another crap.

Yoga, was originated by the Hindus as a way to strengthen their bind to the gods. They believe the unity to god state may allow them to delay ageing, reduce the diabetic risks, high blood pressure, asthma and cardiovascular related problems.

As I was referring to some readings, Yoga is actually a journey of which the goal or destination of Yoga is getting the Yoga State itself, union itself, of the little self and the True Self, a process of awakening to the preexisting union that is called Yoga.

Trough meditations, postures and moves, the whole yoga thing may lead you to a relaxing state, of which was claimed to be the state of unity to god, of which I, as a muslim doubt it so much.

From my understanding, the unity to god state, of which is actually the latent, unconscious state of mind can also be obtained through modern hypnotization, as it is just a state of brain reaction to relaxation.

Yoga has been misunderstood as a physical system with a spiritual components in it but actually, Yoga is a Spiritual system with a physical component!

To say that Majlis Fatwa has not done their study in this matter (or even stupid), is not fair, as the word or the concept of Yoga itself has been misinterpreted and misunderstood. Yoga is the whole system, just like a Proton Saga with it's engine. Without the engine, you are unable to get to your destinations. So Yoga without the postures exercise, you cannot get reach the Yoga state.

In this case, the postures, of which has been practised by the local Yoga practitioners of which should be more accurately addressed as Asana, is just a component of Yoga.

Does this mean that the Yoga practitioners themselves have been using the wrong term for what they've been practicing? It should be Asana, not YOGA dudessss!!!

So these modern yoga practitioners has actually brought some kind of misunderstandings through the misinterpretation by the people, and even the practitioners themselves. I think this is the cause that has brought to the banning of YOGA for muslims, of which I also support it. Yoga, as in definition, is the journey to unite with god.

These modern Yoga practitioners is actually practicing Asana.

So back to the so called Yoga practice in Malaysia.

********************

Ninie, as one of the prominent figure of Yoga in the nation claimed that Yoga has brought her wellness since she was suffering from a lot of illness when she was young. She was not only getting well, she was then willing to share her experience by opening her own yoga center.

And tell you, she did it superbly well.

I myself used to attend a few Yoga sessions when I was still attending GYM. I loved it, especially when there's a lot of pretty creatures in the class. And I had my chance to flirt as much as I like.

The problem was, most of the time, I'm the only male.

So I wasn't so into it even though the cute trainer keep calling me to come to her class and she claimed that they missed my absence in the class.

I think they actually missed my stupid and dirty jokes. When I'm the only male in a place, I tend to speak uncontrollably, thus these pretty creatures keep laughing and laughing.

I don't think they actually laughed at my jokes. I think they laughed at me as I keep embarassing myself for not being able to do this and that, for saying 'adoi' and 'ouch' loudly and sweating like a pig at the end of the class.

But one thing for sure, me, the trainer and all my colleagues, never became a hindu. I'm still a muslim. I'm still practising some yoga postures for my concerned health.

I saw no religious element in that Yoga class. No manteras, tantras or any spiritual routines what so ever just postures and moves.

*********

They claimed modern yoga has got nothing to do with the spiritual routine, of which I partly agreed but if they learn the whole thing of YOGA itself, the whole concept is already incorrect and not precise. Yoga has been commercialized just like satay goreng, of which original satay should be grilled, but when they created a fried version, they still call it satay. Even though, it's fried, it's still satay, and the main objective is the satay is to be eaten.

In this case, you cannot call your Yoga class as Yoga class, or Yoga studio, or call yourself a Yoga teacher as you're not going to reach that YOGA state anyway.

It seems like these Yoga practitioners may have not done their own research on what Yoga is all about. So, it's really not fair to blame the Majlis Fatwa for what they've been deciding, even though I think both parties (majlis fatwa & yoga practitioners) has not done their studies thoroughly.

It's not the time to stop your business now. It's time to change.

Instead of Yoga Studio, it should be ASANA Studio.

* I read somewhere that Yoga Studio in an oxymoron. Do people need a studio to unite with god? It doesn't make sense at all! Hahahahaha!!!!

80% vs 20%

Nice article being forwarded by email from a friend. I just got it this morning. I hope piah zadora won't charge me guilty of plagiarism for putting this article online ha ha ha. Yeah, this is not mine but I do think it's worth 3 minutes of your time, so please please read....

Interesting quote from the movie 'Why did I get married?'
In most cases, especially in relationships, you will only get 80% of
what you NEED and you will hardly get the other 20% that you WANT in
your relationship. There is always another person (man or women) that
you will meet and that will offer you the other 20% which is lacking
in your relationship that you WANT And believe me, 20% looks really
good when you are not getting it at all in your current relationship.
But the problem is that you will always be tempted to leave that good
80% that you know you have, thinking that you will get something
better with the other 20% that you WANT
But as reality has proven, in most cases, you will always end up with
having the 20% that you WANT and loosing the 80% that you really NEED
and that you already had.
Be careful in deciding between what you WANT and NEED in your life.

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. 'Wow,
this girl in my office is a real looker. But it's not her Wynona Rider
features that got me. I'm crazy about her because she's also
understanding, intelligent, tender - so many things that my spouse is
not'

Somewhere along the way, you'll find a woman or a man who will be more
charming or sensitive. More alluring. More thoughtful. Richer. Have
greater sex appeal. And you will find a woman or man who will need you
and pursue you and go loco over you more than your spouse ever did.

Because no wife or husband is perfect. Because a spouse will only have
80% of what you're looking for. So adultery takes place when a husband
or wife looks for the missing 20%. Let's say your wife is melancholic
by nature.

You may find yourself drawn to the pretty clerk who has a cherry laugh
no matter what she says: 'I broke my arm yesterday, Hahahaha . . ..'

Or because your wife is a homebody in slippers and pajamas, smelling
of garlic and fish oil, you may fall for a fresh-smelling young sales
representative that visits your office in a sharp black blazer, high
heels, and a red pencil-cut skirt Or because your husband is the quiet
type, your heart may skip a beat when you meet an old college flame
who has the makings of a talk show host.

But wait! That's only 20% of what you don't have.

Don't throw away the 80% that you already have!

That's not all. Add to your spouse's 80% the 100% that represents all
the years that you have been with each other. The storms you have
weathered together. The unforgettable moments of sadness and joy as a
couple. The many adjustments you have made to love the other. The
wealth of memories that you've accumulated as lovers.

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have.

But faithfulness happens when you start thanking God for what you
already have.

But I'm not just talking about marriage.

I'm talking about life!

About your jobs.
About your friends.
About your children.
About your lifestyles.

Are you like the economy airline passenger that perennially peeks
through the door of the first class cabin, obsessed with what he's
missing? 'They have got more leg room! Oh my, their food is served in
porcelain! Wow, their seats recline at an 80% angle and they've got
personal videos!'

I guarantee you'll be miserable for the entire trip! Don't live your
life like that. Forget about what the world says is first class. Do
you know that there are many first class passengers who are miserable
in first class -- because they are not riding in a private Lear Jet?

The main message???

If you start appreciating what you have right now, wherever you are,
you are first class!

Have a pleasant day .

Which petrol brand should suit you better?

Lazy to experiment, I had never tried other then Shell petrol. When it was still affordable, the V-Power has always been the only petrol going into my car's petrol tank but as we are paying higher petrol price that what we're supposed to be paying, I was only able to use the normal RON97 petrol.

Recently, my cousin had suggested me and my father to try out the BHP petrol. He claimed that his car performed better and saves more fuel while on the BHP infinity petrol.

I gave it a try and it turns out that BHP Infinity petrol gives a better mileage for town driving compared to Shell petrol. Anyway, for long distance high speed driving, it turns out to be not so lean. These are my findings based on RON 97 petrol, and was tried on my honda civic with 2 liter B series engine. I will also display my result with Esso/Mobil petrol as well. Those numbers are averaged from 3 results of each condition, a normal practice for any science experiment if you can remember it well.

Method of testing:

As I've been using Shell, I tested with Shell petrol first. As my petrol tank doesn't have the valve at the entering, i was able to fill in the petrol till it reach the tip and i immediately put the cap on. I reset the odometer to '0' and drive to each condition until it reaches 100 km and I look for another petrol and refueled till it reach the tip. There are 2 parameters should be taken into account.

1. The mileage from odometer
2. Amount of petrol being refilled.

For example, the mileage from the odometer reads at 123.2 km and the amount of petrol being refilled is let 14.8 liter. The formulae is

Fuel consumption = Mileage / petrol usage

so in this case is

Fuel Consumption = 123.2 km / 13.95 liter = 8.8315

I repeated this test 3 times to get the average for each driving condition (town, highway speed and high speed driving), as normally i would do it in JB for town driving, then go up to KL on the highway for highway speed and high speed driving test, and drive in KL for town driving again and go back down to JB again. I recorded all the results, divide by three and come out with these results.

Before trying out the other petrol brands, I will try to dry up my tank before refilling in for 3 times before I started out the test. I might not need to fill up my tank as 3 times of filling in other petrol after drying up is enough to ensure the left out of the other brands should have been totally replaced.

So here are the results!

Shell using the Premium RON97 petrol
BHP using the RON97 INFINITY
Esso/Mobil using the RON97 (purple one)

Town driving:

Shell : 8.8 km/liter
Esso/Mobil : 8.9 km/liter
BHP : 9.4 km/liter

Highway Driving @ 110 km/h:

Shell : 12.4 km/liter
Esso/Mobil : 11.8 km/liter
BHP : 11.9 km/liter

High speed driving @ 170 km/h and more (with VTEC on)

Shell : 9.8 km/liter
Esso/Mobil : 8.9 km/liter
BHP : 7.8 km/liter

Don't ask for other brands like caltex and especially petronas, as I've never get a decent mileage with petronas petrol for any kind of driving.

Are we paying the right price?

I've been busy for the past few weeks and no wonder there's not so much of update eh? Anyway, I've been following closely what was going on and Malaysia seems to be okay but there are some issues that boggled my mind.

The government has been asking the business owners, operators and distributors to reduce on the price due to the decrement of the petroleum price, globally, but not locally.

But is the government 'cakap serupa bikin'? As the global oil price stated, it's now way around USD70 per barrel, of when the local petrol and diesel price was increased back in July, the oil price was at USD147 per barrel. Our local RON97 price was increased from RM1.92 to RM2.70 and Diesel was increased from RM1.58 to RM2.58, plus a subsidy of RM0.30 per liter, that means the market price for the petrol is actually at RM3.00 per liter and RM2.88 per liter for diesel.

Last time, before oil price was increased, the market price for Diesel is RM1.58, whereas the diesel price for the industry, which is following the market price was sold at around RM2.70 per liter. There was a subsidy of more than a ringgit per liter.

It's clear now that the oil price has dropped more than half but our local petrol and diesel price has not dropped even 1/3 of the price. It is clear that we are actually paying more than the market price now. The non subsidized Diesel for Industry is sold at around RM1.20~RM1.30 as for the time being, of which the subsidized diesel is at RM2.05?

What is going on now? A source, who is driving the tanker truck for petronas (who asked not to be disclosed) also confirmed that, the manufacturers/factories started to order diesel in bulks to be sent to their business premises, as it has never happened before. All this while, the factories and manufacturers bought the subsidized diesel from the petrol station. Now they ordered it directly from Petronas, using the non-subsidized industry rate which is very much lower than the local market price.

I just would like to say that, our economic expert were so blind that they cannot see this to happen. All this while, what were they doing rather than being paid for not doing the right thing to forecast the economy situation?

I've also proven it right to my friend in RHB investment department that the oil price will drop to USD70. The bet is still on.

On the 17 and 18th last month, I went to Hanoi with my parents and my brother in law. I snapped some pictures and those can be viewed here
